BAFTA Games Awards Including Xbox Games 2023

Bafta Game Awards generated a lot of discussion due to multiple inconsistencies in the selections. The list of games nominated for in fact, industry professionals expressed their displeasure with the list. How do the BAFTA Games Awards work?

Over 1,200 experienced industry professionals evaluated an extensive collection of games, assessing a total of 257 titles released between December 10, 2022, and November 24, 2023. Consequently, sixty games were selected, and each of them qualified for at least one nomination in seventeen different categories. In January 2024, BAFTA members will participate in a vote to decide the nominees for the “Best Game” and “Best British Game” categories.

On March 7, 2024, the shortlists for the 17 categories will be revealed. Juries will then vote for the remaining categories, with BAFTA members casting their votes for “Best Game” and “Best British Game”. Then, on April 11, the BAFTA Games Awards 2024 will take place, and that’s when we’ll finally find out who won big in every category.

The 60 Best Games of the Year

Now that we have the list of the top 60 games of the year. It’s crucial to note that Alan Wake 2 and Baldur’s Gate 3 are both strong contenders for nominations in 15 different categories.

Please be aware that not every game on this lengthy list will be named; the choices made by the juries and BAFTA Games Award members will not be revealed until March 7.
